Microgravity
Microgravity refers to a condition where objects appear to be weightless, even though gravity is still present. This phenomenon occurs in space, such as aboard the International Space Station, where both the station and its occupants are in free fall towards Earth. As they fall together, the effects of gravity are not felt, creating an environment where astronauts can float. Microgravity enables unique scientific experiments that cannot be conducted on Earth, allowing researchers to study how living organisms behave and how materials react in the absence of normal gravitational forces.
