Metaethical Relativism

Metaethical relativism is the view that moral truths are not absolute but vary based on cultural, societal, or individual contexts. According to this perspective, what is considered right or wrong can depend on different beliefs and practices. In contrast to moral realism, which asserts that there are objective moral truths independent of human opinions, and moral anti-realism, which denies such objective truths altogether, metaethical relativism emphasizes the idea that moral judgments are valid only within their specific contexts. This means that two different cultures might have conflicting moral beliefs, both of which can be seen as correct from their respective perspectives.
