Magnetic Particle Testing

Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT) is a non-destructive testing method used to identify surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials, like steel. It involves magnetizing the object and applying finely powdered magnetic particles to its surface. If there are any flaws, the magnetic field leaks out, attracting the particles and creating a visible indication of the defect.
