Magnetism

Magnetism is a force exhibited by certain materials, like iron, which attract or repel other materials. It occurs due to the movement of electrically charged particles, particularly electrons. Every magnet has two ends, known as 'north' and 'south' poles, with opposite forces. If similar poles are close to each other, they repel. If opposite poles are near, they attract. This invisible force field extends out, allowing magnets to act over a distance, making magnetism a "distance force." It is integral to many daily technologies, including electrical motors and MRI scanners.
