Magnetic Materials

Magnetic materials are substances that respond to magnetic fields. In magnetostatics, we study how these materials create and respond to static magnetic fields. They can be classified into three main types: ferromagnetic materials (like iron) which become strongly magnetized, paramagnetic materials that are only weakly attracted to magnets, and diamagnetic materials that repel magnetic fields. The behavior of these materials is influenced by their atomic structure, which determines how their magnetic moments align in response to external fields, affecting their applications in electronics, data storage, and various technologies.
