Lost-wax method
The lost-wax method is a technique used to create metal sculptures and objects. First, an artist creates a model from wax. This model is then covered in a heat-resistant material, forming a mold. Once the mold hardens, the wax is melted and drained away, leaving a hollow space in the shape of the original model. Finally, molten metal is poured into the mold, filling the cavity. After the metal cools and solidifies, the mold is broken away to reveal the finished piece. This method allows for intricate designs and details in the final product.
