lost-wax casting

Lost-wax casting is a method used to create metal objects, especially sculptures and jewelry. The process begins with making a model from wax, which is then surrounded by a heat-resistant material to form a mold. Once the mold sets, it is heated, melting away the wax and leaving a cavity in the shape of the model. Molten metal is then poured into this cavity to create the final piece. After cooling, the mold is broken away, revealing the detailed metal object. This technique allows for intricate designs and is one of the oldest known art forms.
