The Lost-wax Process

The lost-wax process is a traditional method for creating detailed metal objects. It starts with sculpting a model of the item in wax. This wax model is then coated with a heat-resistant material to form a mold. When heated, the mold melts away, leaving a hollow cavity. Molten metal is poured into this cavity, filling the shape. Once cooled, the outer mold is broken away, revealing the metal object. This process allows for precise, intricate designs and is commonly used in jewelry, art, and sculpture.
