Longitude

Longitude is a geographic coordinate that specifies a location's east-west position on Earth's surface. Imagine the Earth as a sphere with imaginary lines running from the North Pole to the South Pole; these are called lines of longitude or meridians. The prime meridian, at 0°, runs through Greenwich, England. Longitudes are measured in degrees east or west of this line, up to 180°. They help us pinpoint exact locations on Earth, similar to how latitude lines (north-south) work alongside them. Together, latitude and longitude create a coordinate system used for navigation and mapping.
