Late Period

The Late Period of Ancient Egyptian history generally spans from around 664 to 332 BCE. It follows the Third Intermediate Period and precedes the conquest of Alexander the Great. During this time, Egypt saw a decline in political power but a rich cultural revival. Various foreign rulers, including the Nubians and Persians, influenced the region. Art, religion, and architecture flourished, preserving traditional practices while integrating new ideas. Notably, during this period, the Egyptians reestablished a sense of national identity and revered their past, which is reflected in their art and monumental building projects.
