Twenty-fifth Dynasty
The Twenty-fifth Dynasty of ancient Egypt, also known as the Nubian Dynasty, flourished from around 747 to 656 BCE. It was characterized by the rule of kings from Nubia (modern-day Sudan) who conquered Egypt and established their dynasty. These rulers aimed to restore Egypt's former glory, promoting culture, architecture, and religion, and they emphasized traditional Egyptian values. Notable pharaohs included Piye and Taharqa, who expanded their influence in the region. The dynasty ultimately faced challenges from Assyrian invasions, leading to its decline and the eventual rise of the Twenty-sixth Dynasty, which was predominantly Egyptian.
