Lander
A lander is a type of spacecraft designed to land on a celestial body, such as the Moon, Mars, or asteroids. Unlike orbiters, which travel around a planet, landers venture to the surface to conduct scientific experiments and gather data. They are equipped with instruments to study the environment, such as soil composition, atmospheric conditions, and potential for life, while often sending images and information back to Earth. Famous examples include NASA's Mars rovers, which have landers that also act as mobile laboratories to explore the Martian landscape.
