Kepler's Supernova

supernova">Kepler's Supernova, also known as SN 1604, was an astronomical event observed in 1604, believed to be the last supernova visible to the naked eye in our galaxy. It occurred in the Milky Way, about 20,000 light-years from Earth, in the constellation Ophiuchus. The explosion marked the death of a massive star, which collapsed under its gravity and exploded, releasing a tremendous amount of energy and light. Johannes Kepler studied the event, linking it to the changing nature of the heavens, challenging existing beliefs about the permanence of celestial bodies. Today, the remnant is known as the Kepler Nebula.
