Tychonic system

The Tychonic system, proposed by the astronomer Tycho Brahe in the late 16th century, is a model of the solar system that combines elements of both the geocentric (Earth-centered) and heliocentric (Sun-centered) theories. In this system, the Earth is at the center, with the Moon and Sun orbiting it, while other planets orbit the Sun. This structure aimed to account for the observed motions of celestial bodies, preserving the Earth’s central position while recognizing the Sun’s role in planetary motion. It was an influential model before the acceptance of the heliocentric theory proposed by Copernicus and later confirmed by Galileo.
