Just War principles
Just War Principles are a set of ethical guidelines to evaluate the justification for going to war and how war should be conducted. They include two main categories: **jus ad bellum**, which assesses whether entering a war is justified, and **jus in bello**, which governs conduct within war. Key criteria include having a just cause (like self-defense), proper authority (a legitimate government), proportionality (avoiding excessive harm), and discrimination (protecting non-combatants). These principles aim to minimize suffering and maintain moral integrity during conflicts.
