Jezero Crater

Jezero Crater is a large impact crater located on Mars, about 45 kilometers (28 miles) wide. It is particularly significant because it once contained a lake over 3 billion years ago. Scientists believe this ancient lake could have supported microbial life, making Jezero a key site for exploring the possibility of past life on Mars. NASA's Perseverance rover landed there in February 2021 to search for signs of ancient life and collect soil samples for future return to Earth. Its diverse geology and the presence of ancient river deltas make it an intriguing target for planetary exploration.
