MSL (Mars Science Laboratory)
The Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) is a NASA mission that launched the Curiosity rover to explore Mars. Its goal is to assess whether the planet ever had conditions suitable for life by studying its geology, climate, and atmosphere. Curiosity is equipped with advanced scientific instruments to analyze rocks, soil, and the atmosphere directly on Mars. Launched in 2011 and landing in 2012, MSL helps scientists understand Mars’ past environment and assess its potential habitability, paving the way for future exploration and possibly human missions.
