Islamic Will (Wasiyyah)
An Islamic Will, or Wasiyyah, is a legal document that outlines how a person's assets and estate should be distributed after their death, in accordance with Islamic law (Sharia). It allows an individual to specify their wishes regarding property, debts, and guardianship of dependents. While Islamic law has specific rules about inheritance, a Wasiyyah allows individuals to allocate up to one-third of their estate outside these rules, offering flexibility for personal preferences. It is recommended to create a Wasiyyah to ensure that one's wishes are respected and to minimize disputes among heirs.
