Maliki school

The Maliki school is one of the four main Sunni Islamic legal traditions, founded by Imam Malik ibn Anas in the 8th century. It emphasizes the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, the practices of the people of Medina, and the consensus of practicing scholars. This approach places strong importance on the Quran and Hadith but also considers local customs and practices when making legal rulings. Predominantly followed in North and West Africa, the Maliki school provides a flexible framework for applying Islamic law (Sharia) to everyday life, balancing sacred texts with community traditions.
