IPv4

IPv4, or Internet Protocol Version 4, is the system that assigns unique numerical addresses to devices connected to the internet. Think of it as a digital address label for computers, smartphones, or servers, enabling them to locate and communicate with each other. An IPv4 address is a sequence of four numbers separated by dots, like 192.168.1.1, with each number ranging from 0 to 255. It ensures data sent over the internet reaches the correct destination. Despite its widespread use, IPv4 has a limited number of addresses, leading to the development of newer systems like IPv6.
