International Brigade

The International Brigade was a group of volunteer fighters from various countries who joined the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) to support the Spanish Republic against Francisco Franco's Nationalist forces. Motivated by anti-fascist beliefs, these volunteers included individuals from diverse backgrounds, such as communists, anarchists, and socialists. They came together to defend democracy and workers' rights in Spain, seeing the conflict as part of a larger struggle against fascism in Europe. Although they fought bravely, the International Brigade faced defeat, and their experiences became a symbol of international solidarity in the fight against tyranny.
