An impression, in marketing and advertising, refers to the number of times an ad is displayed to people. It counts every time your ad appears on a screen, regardless of whether someone clicks or interacts with it. For example, if an ad shows up on a webpage 100 times, it has 100 impressions. Impressions help measure how often an ad is seen, indicating its reach and visibility, but they don’t tell us if the viewer paid attention or took any action.
