IceCube-Gen2
IceCube-Gen2 is an advanced neutrino observatory being developed at the South Pole to study high-energy cosmic events, like supernovae and black holes. Building on the original IceCube facility, it will feature more sensors and a greater detection area, allowing scientists to capture more data about these elusive particles. Neutrinos, which are nearly massless and interact very weakly with matter, can provide unique insights into the universe's most energetic processes. IceCube-Gen2 aims to enhance our understanding of fundamental astrophysical phenomena and the nature of dark matter, potentially answering some of the most profound questions in physics and cosmology.
