DeepCore

DeepCore is a specialized sub-array of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, located at the South Pole. It is designed to detect high-energy neutrinos, elusive particles that can provide insights into cosmic events like supernovae and gamma-ray bursts. DeepCore consists of highly sensitive detectors placed at deeper levels within the ice, allowing it to filter out noise from less energetic particles. By analyzing the interactions of neutrinos with ice, researchers aim to uncover secrets of the universe, including the nature of dark matter and the fundamental workings of astrophysical processes.
