Hussite Wars
The Hussite Wars (1419–1434) were a series of conflicts in Bohemia (modern-day Czech Republic) sparked by religious and social issues following the execution of reformer Jan Hus. Hus challenged Catholic Church practices, advocating for a return to biblical teachings. His followers, known as Hussites, sought religious reforms and opposed church authority. The wars involved battles between the Hussites, who formed various factions, and Catholic forces loyal to the Church and the Holy Roman Empire. Ultimately, the Hussites achieved significant autonomy, and their movement influenced the Protestant Reformation and shaped the region's religious landscape.
