Homogeneous Mixture
A homogeneous mixture is a combination of substances that appears uniform and consistent throughout. In such mixtures, the individual components are evenly distributed, making it difficult to distinguish one from another. Common examples include salt water, where salt is completely dissolved in water, and air, which is a blend of gases. Because the components are mixed at the molecular level, you can't see separate parts, and they often have similar properties throughout. This contrasts with heterogeneous mixtures, where you can clearly see and identify the different materials involved.
