Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)
A Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) is someone who has a heightened sensitivity to stimuli in their environment, including emotions, sounds, lights, and social interactions. This trait is thought to be due to a more responsive nervous system, making HSPs more aware of subtleties that others might overlook. They often experience emotions more intensely and may feel overwhelmed in busy or chaotic settings. While being an HSP can present challenges, such as the need for more downtime or self-care, it can also enhance creativity, empathy, and deep thinking, contributing positively to their personal and professional lives.
