Hierarchical File System
A Hierarchical File System (HFS) organizes files in a tree-like structure, resembling a family's hierarchy. At the top is the "root" directory, akin to a parent, with various subdirectories (like children) that can contain more folders and files. This structure allows users to easily store, access, and manage data by categorizing it into different levels. For example, a music folder can contain artist folders, which in turn hold albums and individual songs. This clear organization helps users find and keep track of their files efficiently, much like navigating a well-ordered filing cabinet.
