Ghadr Movement
The Ghadr Movement was a revolutionary organization established in the early 20th century by Indian expatriates in North America, particularly in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1913, its primary goal was to achieve Indian independence from British rule. The movement's members, known as Ghadris, organized protests, published literature, and planned uprisings to mobilize support against colonialism. The name "Ghadr" means "rebellion" in Urdu. Though ultimately unsuccessful, the movement highlighted the desire for freedom and played a role in inspiring future generations of Indian nationalists.
