German political system
Germany's political system is a federal parliamentary democracy. The country is divided into 16 federal states, each with its own government. The Bundestag is the federal parliament, elected every four years, which makes laws and represents citizens. The Chancellor, elected by the Bundestag, is the head of government and oversees the executive branch. Germany also has a second chamber, the Bundesrat, representing the states. Political parties play a crucial role in forming coalitions, as no single party often secures a majority. The system promotes stability and cooperation among various political entities.
