George Armstrong Custer
George Armstrong Custer was a United States Army officer and cavalry commander during the American Civil War and the Indian Wars of the late 19th century. Born in 1839, he gained fame for his bold tactics and leadership, particularly during battles like Gettysburg. Custer is perhaps best known for his final stand at the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876, where his forces faced a coalition of Native American tribes. This disastrous defeat led to his death and has since become a symbol of the conflicts between the U.S. government and Native Americans during westward expansion.
