Geneva Bible

The Geneva Bible, first published in 1560, was an influential English translation of the Bible during the Protestant Reformation. It was notable for including extensive annotations and commentary, aimed at helping readers understand scripture through a Reformed theological lens. This version was popular among Puritans and was the first Bible to use numbered verses, making it easier to reference. Although it was eventually overshadowed by the King James Version in the early 17th century, the Geneva Bible played a significant role in shaping Protestant beliefs and had a lasting impact on English literature and language.
