Genetic Epistemology
Genetic epistemology is a theory developed by Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget that explores how knowledge and understanding develop over time, particularly in children. It emphasizes that knowledge is not merely inherited but evolves through interactions with the environment and experiences. Piaget identified stages of cognitive development, suggesting that as children grow, they build more complex ways of thinking. In the context of general knowledge, it highlights the process by which individuals construct their understanding of the world through active engagement, exploration, and problem-solving, rather than passively receiving information.
