General Capacity Theory
General Capacity Theory suggests that individuals have a certain limit to the amount of general knowledge they can hold and process. This theory posits that our cognitive resources—like memory, attention, and reasoning abilities—are finite. As we acquire more information, our capacity can become strained, potentially affecting our ability to learn new things or recall previously learned information. Essentially, while humans can learn and understand a wide range of topics, there is a point where the overload of information can hinder further learning and processing of general knowledge.
