Simon's model of decision making

Simon's model of decision making suggests that individuals or organizations face complex choices but cannot process all possible information or alternatives perfectly. Instead, they seek a satisfactory solution rather than the optimal one—what he calls "satisficing." Decision makers gather relevant information, identify feasible options, and select the first acceptable solution rather than exhaustively analyzing every possibility. This approach recognizes human limitations in processing and time, emphasizing that decisions are shaped by available information, cognitive capacity, and the need for efficiency, rather than being purely rational or optimized.
