Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)
Frozen shoulder, or adhesive capsulitis, is a condition that causes stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint. The shoulder capsule, a connective tissue structure, becomes thickened and inflamed, limiting movement. This can occur after injury, prolonged immobility, or sometimes without any clear reason. Symptoms typically develop slowly and can take months to worsen, often leading to difficulty with everyday activities. Treatment often includes physical therapy, pain management, and, in some cases, corticosteroid injections to reduce inflammation. Most people see gradual improvement over time, although full recovery can take several months to years.
