Adhesive Capsulitis

Adhesive capsulitis, commonly called frozen shoulder, is a condition where the shoulder joint becomes stiff and painful due to thickening and tightening of the capsule surrounding the joint. This results in limited movement and discomfort, often developing gradually. It typically occurs without clear injury and is more common in individuals aged 40-60. The condition can last from months to years but often improves with time, physical therapy, and sometimes medical interventions. The exact cause is unknown, but it involves inflammation and scar tissue formation that restricts normal shoulder motion.
