Franz Joseph Haydn

Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) was an influential Austrian composer known as the "Father of the Symphony" and "Father of the String Quartet." He played a crucial role in shaping classical music during the Classical period. His innovative compositions, characterized by balance and structure, laid the groundwork for future composers like Mozart and Beethoven. Haydn spent much of his career in the service of the powerful Esterházy family, which allowed him creative freedom.
