flying boat
A flying boat is a type of aircraft designed to take off and land on water. Unlike traditional airplanes that require runways, flying boats have large, hull-like structures that allow them to float on the surface of lakes, rivers, or oceans. They are equipped with wings and engines, enabling them to fly like conventional aircraft. Historically used for passenger transport and military missions, flying boats offered unique advantages for areas lacking proper airstrips. Although largely replaced by amphibious planes and land-based aircraft, they remain a significant part of aviation history.
