Martin Mariner

The Martin M2 “Mariner” was an American flying boat patrol bomber used during World War II, primarily by the U.S. Navy. Designed for maritime patrol, it could scan large ocean areas for enemy ships and submarines, and also perform reconnaissance, search and rescue, and anti-submarine warfare. Featuring four engines and a spacious hull, it combined long-range flight capabilities with the ability to land on water. The Mariner was vital for maritime security, helping protect shipping lanes and hunting enemy submarines during the war. Its design aimed to provide sustained patrols over vast ocean expanses with versatility and reliability.
