Feast of Tabernacles
The Feast of Tabernacles, also known as Sukkot, is a Jewish holiday celebrated in the autumn, following the harvest. It lasts for seven days and commemorates the Israelites' journey in the wilderness after escaping slavery in Egypt. During this time, Jews build temporary shelters, or "sukkahs," and eat their meals in them to recall their wandering and reliance on God. The holiday also emphasizes gratitude for the harvest and nature's bounty. Festivities include prayers, singing, and the waving of plant species, symbolizing joy and connection to tradition.
