Sukkot
Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, is a Jewish holiday that occurs five days after Yom Kippur, usually in late September or early October. It commemorates the Israelites' 40 years of wandering in the desert after the Exodus from Egypt. During this week-long festival, people build temporary outdoor shelters called sukkahs, decorated with plants, to symbolize the fragility of life and reliance on nature. Observers often eat, pray, and spend time in these sukkahs, celebrating gratitude for the harvest and reflecting on faith and community. Sukkot is one of the three major pilgrimage festivals in Judaism.
