Lulav

The lulav is a key ritual item used during the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. It is a combination of three natural parts: a palm branch (lulav), myrtle branches (hadassim), and willow branches (aravot), all bound together. The lulav symbolizes unity, gratitude, and the harvest season. During Sukkot, Jews wave the lulav along with a citron fruit (etrog) in six directions—north, south, east, west, up, and down—to acknowledge God's presence everywhere. The lulav's use connects participants with agricultural roots and spiritual reflection on dependence and gratitude.
