Etruscan Civilization

The Etruscan civilization thrived in ancient Italy from around the 8th to the 3rd centuries BCE. Occupying regions like Tuscany, they were known for their advanced art, architecture, and urban planning, influencing early Roman culture. Etruscans practiced a unique polytheistic religion and had a rich tradition of burial customs, leaving behind elaborate tombs. Their society was organized around city-states, each ruled by a king. Despite their cultural achievements, Etruscan power declined with the rise of Rome, and much of their language and heritage faded, but they significantly shaped the foundations of Roman civilization.
