Etruscan League

The Etruscan League was a confederation of city-states in ancient Etruria, located in what is now central Italy, around the 1st millennium BCE. It included prominent cities like Veii, Tarquinia, and Cerveteri. The league allowed these cities to collaborate for mutual benefit, particularly in trade, defense, and cultural exchange. While they had individual governments, the league facilitated collective decision-making for various issues, promoting Etruscan identity. The influence of the Etruscan League diminished as the Roman Republic expanded, but it played a significant role in the region's early political and social structure.
