Diastasis Recti

Diastasis recti is a condition where the large abdominal muscles, called the rectus abdominis, separate along the midline of the abdomen. This commonly occurs during pregnancy as the growing uterus stretches the muscles, but it can also happen in men and non-pregnant women due to obesity or heavy lifting. Its symptoms may include a visible bulge in the belly, especially when straining or standing, and potential issues with core strength and stability. While often not serious, it can lead to discomfort and may require physical therapy or specific exercises to help restore muscle alignment and strength.
