Constituent Assembly of Pakistan
The Constituent Assembly of Pakistan was formed in 1947, shortly after Pakistan's independence from British rule. Its main purpose was to draft the country’s first constitution, which would outline the government structure, fundamental rights, and responsibilities of citizens. The Assembly consisted of elected representatives who debated and created legal frameworks to guide Pakistan’s political and social systems. After several discussions and revisions, the first constitution was enacted in 1956, establishing Pakistan as an Islamic republic. The Assembly played a crucial role in shaping the nascent state's governance and identity.
