Classical orders

Classical orders refer to the architectural styles originating from ancient Greece and Rome. There are five main orders: Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian from Greece, and Tuscan and Composite from Rome. Each order has distinct characteristics related to columns, capitals, and overall proportions. For example, the Doric order features sturdy, simple columns, while the Ionic has scroll-like capitals. The Corinthian order is ornate and elaborate. These styles significantly influenced Western architecture, serving as a basis for many buildings, particularly in public and institutional settings, emphasizing beauty, order, and harmony in design.
