Christine de Pizan
Christine de Pizan was a 14th-15th century French writer and poet, often considered one of the first women in Western literature to support herself through her writings. Born around 1364, she addressed themes of women's rights, education, and societal roles in her work. Notably, her book "The Book of the City of Ladies" defends women against misogyny and asserts their value. Christine’s contributions laid the groundwork for feminist thought and challenged the patriarchal views of her time, making her a significant figure in both literature and the history of women's rights.
