Chittagong Uprising

The Chittagong Uprising, also known as the Chittagong Armoury Raid, occurred in 1930 in what is now Bangladesh. Led by revolutionary leader Surya Sen, a group of Indian nationalists attacked an armory in Chittagong to seize weapons and inspire an uprising against British colonial rule. The raid aimed to liberate India from British oppression. Although the insurrection ultimately failed, it symbolized the growing discontent against colonialism and inspired future movements for independence. Surya Sen and his comrades became martyrs in the struggle for freedom, highlighting the intense desire for self-determination during that period.
